Let’s face it: transportation can stomp all over our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint (stomp? footprint? Ah, forget it…). While you could certainly have your reception, ceremony and guest accommodations all located within walking distance or hire a fleet of Priuses (Priui?), sometimes logistics simply don’t work out that way.

If you’re fortunate enough to live in an area with Public Transportation, why not take advantage of it?

Residents of LA are getting the good stuff first as another eco-friendly transportation company is offering their services for weddings: Eco-Nation. Featuring a Prius, Lincoln Town Car and GMC Yukon, they’re making it easy for Los Angeles couples to choose alternative cars for their weddings.

As hybrids like the Toyota Prius continue to gain in popularity, the focus on shifting away from gas guzzling vehicles is extending to transportation services as well. Enter EcoLimo, whose fleet of cars are either gas/electric hybrids or run on bio-diesel fuel. While they may not have traditional limos just yet, their fleet includes luxury cars like the Lexus 400h and Mercedes E320 as well as a bio-diesel Ford Excursion (Seats 9). They only operate so far in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC, but if you’re looking for ‘green’ options for your wedding transportation, as about vehicles like these for your wedding.
