I like the idea of cutting back on waste by doing as much as possible online. For example, a friend of mine did her registry online at myregistry.com, and not only was she able to support local shops and artists by registering locally (the site let her add things from anywhere she wanted), but she also set up a charitable donations fund to benefit her favorite environmental preservation foundation. She even used these eCards she found on the site as her save the date cards to avoid using unnecessary paper (her actual invites were printed on recycled paper). There's so many ways to make weddings more eco-friendly, so I'm glad to see this is becoming a trend.
